My Pokemon Team!

Description

K so prepare for major Pokemon nerdage

I used this personal piece as an opportunity to explore several different experimental things, so if it doesn't look exactly cohesive/unified, that's why <3 Also, background is free stock from www.mrwallpaper.com

I grew up on Pokemon; my first game was Yellow and my favorite game was Crystal. :) I'm not a strict "gen wunner" by any means but my favorite, and personally nostalgic, generations were 1 and 2, thus why they comprise my favorite team. <3 I always adored the region of Johto, particularly the lore associated with Ho-Oh and Lugia, the beautiful towers, the dogs.. everything. It had me hooked and inspired me to write my own stories and draw my own creations! <3  I alway felt connected to the Kimono girls, and always thought if the Pokemon universe were real, I'd totally be a Kimono girl or a miko/shrine keeper or something along those lines.  Hence why I drew the girl in a kimono! Without further ado, here are my top six favorite Pokemon that comprise my team, and why:

1. Ho-Oh. By far my favorite Pokemon and by far my favorite legendary. PHOENIX POKEMON <3 I love everything about him-- his design, his lore, the fact his feathers bring people ETERNAL HAPPINESS. He's also like the epitome of grace, autumn, tin tower just dafjkahfdkaajda I love him ok.
2.Misdreavus. I just adore her little ghostly self, her colors, the fact that she's... unique, different. A little on the creepy, Halloween-y side. She also utilizes my absolute favorite move, Perish Song, which faints listeners within three turns!
3. Rhydon. Rhydon is an odd one who stole my heart. <3 He is probably my most favorite "tough" Pokemon, and I adore the fact that he was THE first Pokemon ever created (that's why there are statues of Rhydon throughout the Pokemon games!). He's simple, reliable, awesome. (Also, I don't like his new evolution. Ugh!)
4. Spearow. The original angry bird. I always felt like he was overshadowed by Pidgey! In the second generation games, you receive a Spearow nicknamed "Kenya," and for some reason I always just loved that bird and always made him part of my team. I also feel like Fearow and Ho-Oh look a lot alike-- Ho-Oh is the rainbow-y version of Fearow, LOL. <3
5. Ninetales. What's not to love about a nine-tailed fox?! Good ol' Ninetales is just a beautiful, graceful thing. I adore the lore surrounding this Pokemon, the fact it's comprised of multiple saints, and can live for crazy long years and set curses! I also love the shiny Ninetales form just as much.
6. Espeon. Last but not least, my favorite Eeveelution had to make it into the bunch! Interestingly enough, I'm not a fan (at all) of her shiny form! Espeon is a gorgeous, graceful soul.

Out of all the Pokemon out there, what would your team of six favorites be, and why? I don't base my team on typing or power, but you can if you want!

Love this picture. I started in gen 1 but I kind of forgot the game after I beat it. Just wasn't memorable, thankfully though when Gold and Silver came out they tugged at the vague memory and I bought Silver. Still my favorite Pokemon games, and I prefer Crystal over the remakes.

Anyway my team of favorite pokemon? Hmm that's a tough one because things change all the time. Umbreon I'd have on every team if I didn't like training different Pokemon each gen.

Umbreon
Alolan Ninetales
Porygon 2
Sableye
Kabutops
Noctowl

Honorable mention goes to Espeon, Mienshao, Butterfree and all the dark type and ghost type Pokemon. XD I don't like to have overlapping types on my teams.

I like almost all the dark and ghost types design and lore wise. Oddly enough I've never trained a Sneasel because it's ear feather bugged me. However I plan to give it a go in Gold when it re-releases in the e-shop. That means I'll either be type overlapping with Umbreon or use an Espeon this time.
